how come when you witness the unthinkable it clings to your mind for hours? actually it's more like it's burned into mine. i know i'm not going to forget this.
so it all started when we (my mom, little brother and me) were driving home from dinner. we were pulling out of the parking lot and stopped at a red light. at the time i was looking for a song on my ipod when i looked to my right through the passenger seat window. i see a man, probably in his 50's. also he was smoking. there was a girl with him. she looked like she was around my age. i didn't see what started this but the first thing that i saw was the girl knocked some gold thing out of the man's hands. he freaks and grabs a handful of her hair and throws her to the ground, which is a combination of grass and a cement sidewalk. she gets up and brushes herself off. at this point he's screaming at her to pick it up and when she doesn't respond, he throws her toward it. by now my mom and some of the other drivers have noticed. the sees my mom and i and signals us to call the cops. (god i love my mom for doing this) she backs up, rolls down my window and screams, "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING TO HER??" of course the man hears her and turns to face my mom. he yells back, "NOTHING. SHE'S FINE!!" the girl takes this chance and runs to the nearest car. the man chases after her and pulls her backward. she swirls around to the otherside and gets in with him right behind her. this is when the cops show up even though i have no idea who called them.
as we pull away my mom has to claim my little brother down (remember he's only 7 and has never seen anything like that. he thought the man was going to kill the the girl by shooting her through the throat. creepy i know) after he's ok, my mom looks at me and saids, "You know that we gave her that chance to run, right? we probably saved her and you know what i won't have noticed if you weren't staring." i don't know what exactly happen after we left but i'm hoping the man's thrown in jail and that the girl's ok.
